성균관대학교 자연 과학 캠퍼스, 제 1공학관에 위치한 5층 테라스는 사용자의 대부분이 건축학과가 사용하는 외부 공용 공간이다. 현재 테라스의 상태는 공학관의 직각의 그리드 속에 보이드 공간으로 뚫려 있는 공간으로 양옆으로 건물의 벽이 보여 답답함을 느끼기 충분하다. 학생들이 기분전환 겸 사용하는 테라스의 공간을 큼직하게 개방감을 느낄 수 있고, 잠시 머물렀다 흩어질 수 있는 공간을 만들고자 하였다.
The fifth-floor terrace, located in Sungkyunkwan University’s Natural Science Campus and the first engineering center, is an external public space used by most of the users by the Department of Architecture. Currently, the terrace is a space that is open as a void space in the grid at a right angle of the engineering center, and the walls of the building can be seen on both sides, enough to feel stuffy. It was intended to create a space where students can feel a great sense of openness and stay for a while and disperse in the terrace space that students use as a refreshment.
Concept
5층과 6층, 옥상 공간을 자연스럽게 이어주는 공용 공간을 만들어주었다. 각층을 이어주는 매개체 역할을 하는 스탠드를 이용하여 5층에서 6층, 6층에서 옥상으로 연결 시켜주며 반대로 강하게 대립 되게 보이는 스탠드를 사용하였다.
It created a common space that naturally connects the 5th and 6th floors and rooftop spaces. A stand that acts as a medium connecting each floor is used to connect from the 5th floor to the 6th floor and from the 6th floor to the roof, and a stand that looks strongly opposed to each other is used.

성균관대학교 자연 과학 캠퍼스, 제 1공학관 5층에 위치한 기존의 테라스는 직각의 그리드 형태 속에 위치해 있다.
Sungkyunkwan University Natural Science Campus, the existing terrace located on the 5th floor of the 1st Engineering Hall is located in a grid of right angles.
Program
스탠드를 사용하면서 학생들이 쉽게 모였다 흩어 질 수 있는 공간을 만들었으며 5층과 6층 그리고 옥상을 연결 시키는 스탠드 아랫 공간을 이용하여 건축학과 학생들에게 필요한 공간을 추가 시켰다.
While using the stand, it created a space where students could easily gather and disperse, and added spaces necessary for architecture students by using the lower space of the stand connecting the 5th and 6th floors and rooftops.
